Statoil is planning to drill one of the most promising wells of the year. The exploration community is excited about the area where the Korpfjell prospect is located.

The production license where this prospect is located has been one of the most in demand licenses in the 23rd licensing round. Very close to the Russian border in the Barents Sea, the prospect is estimated to have a large volume potential. Estimations do not state millions but billions of barrels of recoverable oil.
