Statoil finished drilling Korpfjell to a vertical depth of 1540 metres. There was quite some excitement around this prospect and its billion-barrel potential. However,  the result is fairly disappointing as only a non-commercial gas discovery was made, according to the press release from NPD.

The community, however, did once again a great job. The majority was clear about a discovery to be made with 87%. The participants where split on the question whether it is going to be a commercial discovery or not. Eventually, the vote came out to be correct with a slight majority of 52% voting for non-commercial.

In terms of fluids,  31% voted for gas and 48% voted for oil and gas. Thus, the prediction of phase was not entirely correct yet clearly a majority did expect gas nonetheless.
